焼却によって発生した灰は埋め立てられる。埋め立て地はまず不浸透性の層で固められ、焼却灰はその上に積み上げられていく。埋め立て地がいっぱいになると、漏出を最小限にするために低気密性ポリエチレンシートをかけて、雨から保護する。
The ash after incineration will be deposited in a landfill that is lined with impermeable layers. When the landfill is full it will be covered with a low-density polyethylene liner to protect it from rainwater and to minimize seepage.
